The People’s Arms Academy, constructed under the co-supervision of Henan Provincial Military Command and Henan University, is one of the colleges of Henan University. In June, 2001, the former Party Secretary of Henan Province, Chen Kuiyuan, the former Governor, Li Keqiang, and the leaders of the Provincial Military Command attended the unveiling ceremony of the academy. The academy is located at Jinshui District of ZhengZhou City. The environment is fine. The academy has huge teaching staff with first-class teaching equipments and good service facilities. Two specialties, the public management and the information management and system, are offered in our academy. According to the demands of the Ministry of Education and the teaching programs formulated by Henan University, all the students, completing all the required courses and their undergraduates with 4-year’s schooling, are issued with their graduation certificates and conferred bachelor’s degrees of management. After the entrance, all the students with unified dresses and without military statuses, are under paramilitary management. They all get basic military training. By 4-year’s strict fostering and training, the students with sound professional knowledge and fine quality of soldiers win their favor of their employing units. As the representative of Henan University, the students of our academy took part in the first Henan joint performance of military training for college students and won the first among all the participated members. Tow years in a row, our academy has been commended as the outstanding examination center of CET Band 4 and 6 by the admission offices of Henan Province and Zhengzhou City because of her fine tone of schooling and learning. Some students good both in character and scholarship are elected as provincial “outstanding student leaders” and “excellent graduates”, or exempted from a master’s degree examination. Our academy has come out on top in all people’s arms academies of the whole country. The People’s Arms Academy Learned Journal is the only one academic publication for this kind of academies. The past, the present and the future of our academy convinces us that her future will be brighter than ever.

About Well-Known Professors
Relying on the rich teaching sources of Zhengzhou City, the People’s Arms Academy has found a very successful pattern of combining our own teachers on the active service with the appointed teachers from other colleges and universities. At present the academy has 20 professors and 40 lectures. Among them, Professor Yang Yunzhong is the deputy to the National People’s Congress, the specially invited researcher of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the expert on international studies, and the national top-notch educator. He enjoys the special allowance granted by the Stated Council. Professor Li Daosheng, the former director of the Lange Teaching and Research Section of Jinan Army Academy, is now the director of the Basic Culture Teaching and Research Section of our academy. He is the adviser of the Foreign Language Examination Center for all of the Army’s professional officers, a member of the National English Teaching and Research Institute. He used to be invited to revise the syllabus of the national college English teaching twice. He has been conferred the “gold medal” for the Army development of human resources.
